Of course you don’t need an excuse to travel, but if you are going to tour anywhere around the world, fall is the best season to do. Try to imagine yourself admiring a city without a lot of tourists while a warm wind and rays of sunshine are brushing your skin. Also colourful scenery of yellow and red patterns enchants you… this is travelling during the autumn so what are you waiting for? It’s a brilliant time to take a cheeky city break! In this article I will suggest you some wonderful cities where you can revive yourself.
New York
Autumn is the best season to visit the Big Apple. The weather is still warm there and there aren’t a lot of tourists so you can admire the famous New York’s fall foliage. In fact in New York the leaves can give us one of the best fall scenery of yellow, red and orange patterns. You can see this by taking a stroll through Central Park. Also the fall season is the best for visiting NY by bicycle, and you can do it free thanks to the Bicycle Sharing Service of the city!
Edinburgh
In my humble opinion Edinburgh looks stunning in every season but during the autumn is particularly spectacular. Take a stroll through Princes Street Gardens, one of the Edinburgh’s famous green spaces located in the heart of the city centre. With wonderful autumnal colours you can have the most popular Edinburgh’s sights, including the Scott Monument in East Princes Street Gardens, the storybook-like Gardeners’ Cottage in West Princes Street Gardens and a perfect view of Edinburgh Castle.
London
Hyde Park is one of the most famous London parks. It’s own autumn scenery has been location of several films like Sliding doors or Wimbledon. It has something for everyone. You can enjoy swimming, boating, cycling and skating. There are pitches for team games, tennis courts, tracks for horse riding and a spectacular children’s playground. Hyde Park is home to a number of fascinating buildings and monuments, such as The Serpentine Bridge, the Joy of Life fountain and the famous Archiles statue.
Budapest
If you spent a lot of money in this summer maybe Budapest could be your destination. It is famous for its elegant buildings and several bridges that connect Buda with Pest separated from the Danube River. Budapest is known as the Festival City and during this season you can visit the amazing Café Budapest Contemporary Art Festival! One of the most important contemporary art festival in Europe. Artists around the world join in this event to show their art. In this period you can admire the city as a huge atelier.
