Facebook is expanding its international headquarters in Dublin, adding 100 new positions.
The social network, which was founded in 2004, came to Ireland in 2009, employing 30 people.
Its Irish–based staff are involved in a broad range of tasks for the business and is responsible for users of the site outside of the US.
Minister for Jobs, Richard Burton, announced that this new expansion will bring the number of people employed at at the social network site’s Dublin base to 500.
“Today’s announcement of a significant expansion by one of the biggest companies on the internet, with the creation of 100 high-end jobs, is a major endorsement of the tech environment in Dublin and further confirmation of our city’s status as the internet capital of Europe” said the minister.

The new positions will include roles in advertising, safety, policy and user-operations.
