Dublin has been chosen by an American firm, DropBox Inc., as the official site of its international headquarters.
Dropbox file hosting service is a free internet service that lets users access documents, photos and videos everywhere and from different devices and share them easily.
The new international operations center will be the first office of Dropbox established outside the USA, promising a significant number of job opportunities to over 200 people.
Enda Kenny, Prime Minister of Ireland, said “As part of Ireland’s mission to become the best small country in the world for business we have become the European hub for many of the world’s leading digital companies, and the arrival of a top cloud company like Dropbox indicates Dublin’s growing capacity to usher in the next generation of internet companies“.
The company is now accepting applicants for various positions, in which 30 to 40 people are expected to be recruited early next year, with the comapny seeking to hire multi-lingual sales teams, account management and user operations staff.
Dropbox is also aiming to double the number of its employees, on its second year of operation in Dublin City.
