You can find a traditional song about almost every little town of Ireland!
From the north to the south, across the 32 counties of the Emerald Isle, Irish people are famous for their strong and passionate musical culture.
The largest cities of Ireland can be proud of their unofficial “anthems”. Here you are the most famous of them!

DUBLIN
“Molly Malone” : the best-known song about the capital of Ireland. The song tells the fictional tale of a beautiful fishmonger who plied her trade in the heart of Dublin, but who died young, of a fever.
“In Dublin’s fair city, where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she wheeled her wheelbarrow through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!”
-
CORK
“The Irish Rover“: folk song about a magnificent (though improbable!) ship sailed from Cork harbour at the beginning of IXX Century that reaches an unfortunate end.
“On the fourth of July eighteen-hundred and six
We set sail from the sweet cove of Cork,
We were sailing away with a cargo of bricks
For the grand city hall in New York!”
